    Ah, you can see this in many big cities these days – it seems to be a growing phenomenon. They’re basically declarations of undying love, left by couples visiting Paris, with their names or initials on the lock. They place the lock, then throw away the key…

    Quite romantic really :)

    As a footnote I should add that today, on the bridge, I saw a very enterprising young woman selling new locks with keys to tourists who wanted to ‘make a wish’. I guess the economic situation can bring out the entrepreneur in us all…
