RA Brooks works across materials — charcoal, acrylic, watercolor, textile, and beyond — the medium chosen for what it can say, not out of habit.

Her work moves along a spectrum: from figures observed in the studio, abstracted until only feeling remains, to fully abstract work that carries no body present at all — only the impression a memory leaves behind. Between those two poles is where much of her practice now lives.
